Maybe it is because it is the first hot Vette I can remember, maybe it is because my grandpa owns one now, or maybe it is just because it is one cool ass ride.

c4 is lowkey the best vette

I don’t have a soft spot for C4. But I would consider buying one used if I wanted a fun commuter car. And I’ve heard the fuel consumption on these isn’t bad at all given the level of performance.

I always thought it was a clean, Italianate design. Terrible interior, but very sexy body.

I’ve always thought they looked a bit plain. Really not any more exciting appearance-wise than the contemporary Camaro. Couple that with the lackluster engines of the ‘80s (I know some did end up with decent power), and you have a car that doesn’t interest me much.

What kinda loser buys a teal car?

I saw one of these parked in an empty lot the other day. I thought to myself, “goddam. That thing looks good.”
Teal would be a bonus

I had a 93 LT1/6 speed vette that I used as a daily driver for about a year and a half. It was fun, but certainly compromised as a daily driver from an ergonomic standpoint. I won’t own another C4, but I could certainly see owning a newer vette as a daily driver after I pay off the truck. For the money, I’d pick up a non-Z06 C5 as an interesting daily driver for sub 15k.

Saw a teal C4 at a wedding a few weekends back. It’s the only C4 I’ve ever liked the look of. It was so ugly it was amazing. I would only EVER own one in teal. I’ve said it, I’ve put my foot down. (chance of me owning a Corvette is <0.01%)

My grandpa bought a C4 Corvette when they were new, red exterior with a red interior to match. I still remember riding around in it listening to the Beach Boys. Simple times.

Corvettes always have surprisingly good fuel consumption

That is actually a good way to describe the exterior. The interior was a little rough but the all digital gauges on the early cars were just so cool

Yeah looking past the 80s into the 90s cars with more horsepower and I think you have a pretty cool car.

Obviously someone without any taste at all

Oh yeah for a DD this would be pretty rough. The high door getting in makes you have to fall into the car basically

Look at the dust rose (I believe that is the name) that is a great color too

I referred to it as a fall in, climb out experience. Fun fact from the book written by the chief engineer on the C4 : the foot tall door sill is a result of an engineering work around to a late mandate from GM management. The C4 was originally supposed to be a T-top car, with a very structural brace running from the a pillar to the b pillar. Relatively late in the game , management demanded that the car be a full targa and not T-tops. Being too far in the process to re design the chassis as a targa to begin with, doubling the height of the main chassis rail going down the side of car was the work around they had that late in the game to try and maintain some semblance of chassis rigidity once the actually structural targa top is removed. That’s also why a C4 feels like a wet noodle with wheels when you remove the targa top.

I did not k ow that interesting! I appreciate the effort but a T-top C4 would have been pretty sexy.
